How To Use
* Please make sure the item is oil tanned and not coated leather. This dressing will not penetrate coated leather.
Step 1: Apply the Dressing
- Use a clean, lint free cloth or your fingers to apply the dressing in light coats.
- Ensure an even application over the leather surface.
Step 2: Allow Absorption Time
- Let the dressing absorb for 12 to 24 hours.
- The number of applications varies based on the original condition of leather. When completely absorbed, reapply.
- Repeat until a thin layer of dressing remains on the leather surface. Due to the density of the dressing, leather cannot over-absorb the conditioner.
- Each treatment helps the leather become stronger, softer, and more flexible.
Step 3: Remove Excess and Buff
- Use a clean, dry, soft cloth to remove any excess dressing.
- Gently buff the surface to create a soft sheen.
- This buffing action melts the blend of waxes into the topmost fibers to repel water and dust.
- Thoroughly remove all extra dressing, taking special note of any seams or crevices.
Step 4: Maintain Regularly
- Perform follow-up treatments two to four times per year, or as needed, to maintain protection.

I’ve had the same 6oz container of leather dressing for years and years and it’s dressed many articles of leather items that I have. Pretty much every piece of leather I own has been dressed with this stuff at least once and I love the results. It replenishes moisture and softens the leather up, making it more comfortable whether it’s a jacket or a pair of shoes. It also replenishes the sheen in smooth leather that seems to be getting dull from age. And lastly, it adds a layer of protection against water, which is always appreciated. I like that there is no chemical smell too. If you stick your nose right in it, it kinda smells like beeswax and considering the dressing is yellow, I’d assume the main ingredient in this is beeswax. I like to use my bare fingers to apply it, letting my body heat melt the dressing so I can work it into the leather easier and that seems to work great. I leave it on overnight so it can soak in and do its job and then wipe it with a dry towel the following morning.. I most recently used this on my leather Converse Chucks and they look better than the day I bought them.

Brought a 1906 WWI German bayonet scabbard back to life. Before I treated it, the leather was brown, cracking dry and inflexible. After 2-3 treatments over the course of a week it has been brought to museum quality and I can safely unsheathe the bayonet with worrying about destroying the leather.

Every now and then a product surprises and delights, like when you discover some home remedy that actually works for shiny hair or dyspepsia, right? Well I have to say I am extremely happy I found this leather restorative.Our leather furniture of many years has taken a beating and way too much sun. It was dry, faded, uneven colors, abused. Bought this Pecard Antique Leather Dressing on blind faith, used a lot of elbow grease, and was honestly bowled over by the results. (Photos attached, I could immediately see I'd have to document the results.)Exhibit A: The armchair. The top surface was very much like the very light, faded area shown on the inside -- are you amazed yet? The darker half towards the front (showing contrast) is the first application of the PALD.Exhibit B: The couch. OMG. We were ready to take it out back and shoot it. First picture shows two cushions, the cushion on the left having been the most sun damaged, desperately dried out, now post treatment. It looked as bad or worse as the one on the right before I massaged it with Pecard ALD. Seriously! Now regardez the interim application to the cushion on the right, and then the "after." The two cushions aren't the exact same color, due to usage, but -- what a difference.FYI I'm an actual couch potato, and these are actual photos. Highly recommend this product.
