How To Apply Pecard Leather Boot & Shoe Oil

Clean your leather boots or shoes before applying the oil so the leather surface can absorb it evenly.

1. Apply a small amount of Pecard Leather Boot & Shoe Oil to a wool applicator pad or clean cloth. Do not pour the oil directly onto the leather.
2. Spread the leather boot oil evenly across the surface in circular motions, then work it into the leather with light pressure.
3. Allow the leather shoe oil to absorb for 12 hours or overnight so the conditioner can penetrate the leather fibers.
4. Wipe away any excess oil with a clean cloth before wearing or storing the item.
5. Reapply as needed to maintain conditioning, waterproofing, softness, and protection against rain, snow, salt, chemicals, and everyday wear.

FAQs

What is Boot Oil?
Boot oil is a liquid leather conditioner that helps soften, preserve, waterproof, and protect leather boots. We use Pecard Leather Boot & Shoe Oil to condition smooth or textured smooth leather, restore dry leather flexibility, and help protect boots from rain, snow, salt, chemicals, and daily wear.
How Often Should I Use Leather Boot Oil?
We recommend using Pecard’s Leather Boot Oil as needed, based on how often you wear the item and how much weather exposure it receives. Leather shoes and everyday boots may need oil every few months, while work boots, cowboy boots, and outdoor leather gear may need more frequent care when exposed to moisture, salt, mud, sun, or chemicals.
Does It Darken the Leather Noticeably?
Pecard Leather Boot & Shoe Oil may darken lighter-colored leather because leather oil can deepen the color as it conditions the fibers. We recommend testing a small hidden area before full application, especially on tan, light brown, natural, or faded smooth leather.
Can I Use Leather Shoe Oil for Suede or Nubuck?
No, we do not recommend Pecard Leather Boot & Shoe Oil for suede or nubuck. This shoe and boot oil is made for smooth leather and textured smooth leather, including oil-tanned, vegetable-tanned, and chrome-tanned leather. Oil can change the nap, color, and surface texture of suede or nubuck.
