I have been using this Black Dressing for years now. High quality food grade petroleum and a Black Tint. Works great to cover scratches and faded leather. Easy to apply with my finger and let dry for 24 hours then wipe excess and use a horse hair brush to melt in the Wax.

Great for staing leather

I've used PECARD products for years on all of my leather goods. Which range from leather gloves, vests, coats and any smooth leather products that are not coated. I use this tint to cover scratches and wear areas on my buffalo leather vest that I wear almost every day. This stain covers all the scratches, scrapes and wear areas. It works better than shoe polish. Then I apply PECARD leather conditioner on the entire vest and leave it overnight for it to soak in, then buff it out. If you want to keep any leather goods supple and waterproof you have to regularly maintain them. If this seems like too much work then buy vinyl or synthetic and when it wears out you can toss it.

Rejuvenated a 25 year old jacket

My 25 year old Schott aviator jacket was showing its age: dull, with some of the original dye rubbed off, and generally just worn and beat up. This stuff worked really well. It’s not magic—the jacket doesn’t look brand new. But it now looks more like a 5-year old jacket than a 25 year old jacket. In my book, that’s a great improvement. It’s important to follow the directions to get good results and avoid having the stuff rub off, but it’s well worth taking the time to do it right. A little patience, a little elbow grease, this outstanding product, and you’re good to go. Now if only I could find something to make the jacket’s owner look 20 years younger.

Very nice product. Used on my black/dark brown leather jacket. Over time the coloring had faded or even rubbed (off on the elbows). Followed instructions and jacket looks like new. Plenty left over for the next job.Easy transaction.
